Bronze, Silver & Gold Groups
Places on our runs are currently limited to 24 plus Run Leader(s).

In the meantime, we wanted to refresh everyone's memory on the structure and pace of our Bronze, Silver and Gold groups, just to make sure everyone is able to run with the most suitable group for them each week.
Bronze - The Bronze group typically covers around 5-6.5 miles at roughly a 10-12 minute mile pace. Our Bronze group currently has a Run Leader and Run Assist. This will allow us to offer a split, if required.
Silver - The Silver group usually covers between 6 and 8 miles. The pace of this group is around 8 - 10 minute miles dependant on the route, which is likely to involve more elevation. The Silvers currently have a Run Leader and Run Assist. This will allow us to offer a split, if required.
Gold - The Gold group tends to cover a minimum of 8 miles, often running up to 10 miles. The routes are slightly more challenging and will be covered at around 8 minute miles, although this is subject to the route plan and elevation. The Gold group has a Run Leader and does not have a Run Assist.
With all of our groups, we run back, meaning no one ever gets left behind. A regroup point will be given by the Run Leader and the quicker runners will always loop back for those at a steadier pace. So, if you feel ready to change your group and up your pace, you can be assured that you will be well looked after!

We know that there isn't one particular group that will fit each runner all the time, and encourage all runners to run in the group most appropriate to their current level of fitness and ability. If you are unsure which group is the right one for you, then please do drop us a message or chat to a Run Leader and we'll point you in the right direction!
Thank you

Rockhoppers With The Famous Legend Ultra Runner Nicky Spinks
On Tuesday 11th Aug, Rockhoppers had a special guest run with them. Ultra runner Nicky Spinks had time to spend with the Rockhoppers at Farnley Tyas.

She took part in the warm up, ran the route, had a cool down and stretches.

She had time for photos and time to talk to the Rockhoppers. Then they had questions and answers with Nicky Spinks outside the Golden Cock.

Just one absolutely fantastic night was had by all.

On the weekend of  14th-15th Aug 2021, Nicky Spinks broke the record for the Lake District 24 hour record completed 65 peaks in 23 hours 45 mins. What amazing and really nice Lady she is, a true ambassador to the sport, and loved by all the Rockhoppers ????????

Membership Renewal - Final Renewal Reminder

UKA extended the deadline for membership renewals for 21/22 until 31st August 2021 due to the covid situation (this would normally have been April). This year has flown by and now this deadline has passed!
Remember that your membership is your key to our training nights! Our sessions are currently only open to current Stadium Runners members due to covid restrictions and booking management, so without a valid membership you wouldn't be able to attend. You don't need to be a KAL member, nor do you need to pay any additional pay as you go costs.

Your membership also gives you access to our private members social media page to keep up to date with club progress (and these newsletters! - Mark). We're in the process of putting together a short race calendar of events so as a member you'd be involved in this, and when all races pick back up, we'll be extending this and including a coach trip to a race too. We have a few other events in the pipeline, and you wouldn't want to miss out on the socials now we're allowed back in the pubs! You'll also keep your £2 discount on all race bookings.
Renewing is easy - all you need to do is complete these forms
Membership Form
Privacy Notice
and return them to our Membership Secretary, Alison Cottam at

Calderdale Way Relay
Everything is nearly set for the Calderdale Way Relay on Sun 26th September.

Please can all runners make sure they see Jonny to sign the paperwork.

Good luck to all our runners!
West Yorkshire Winter League 2021-2022
Unfortunately, while Storthes Hall is the perfect course at the moment for the 13th Feb, there is a possibility that in January or February the tree felling may start once again. This will mean major disruption.

Tom & the Committee have agreed we can’t take that risk, and so they have decided to pull out of Storthes Hall. They are currently looking at organising something from Marsden Cricket Club at Wessenden instead.

More information soon.

Entry to the 8 race WYWL Cross Country Season has now been open for over a week. 750 places were available, and now only 80 remain. Book on now, and join the 38 Stadium Runners already signed up, if you don't want to miss out on all the fun.
Run Leaders Required

Stadium Runners is always very grateful to all our run leaders, new and not so new. Stadium Runners simply wouldn’t happen without the dedication and commitment of run leaders who regularly give up their time to ensure all the groups stay safe and have a fun and challenging experience. But particularly over the last few months, our run leaders have been fantastic and we owe it to them that the Club has been able to offer safe and enjoyable sessions again.

We are always looking for new run leaders and can offer training, equipment and lots of support. The chance to say “not far now” and “that’s all the hills done” and other well known motivational (but not always true) phrases.

This course is now available as a virtual course. England Athletics have announced a number of dates for a new online Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) course, and they plan to release more dates in the future.

If you would like to know more about how to join this amazing team, email Bridget at or ring me on 07540 434573
