Fri 7th Jul, Holme Valley 5 Miler. Ian Du Feu came 12th in 35:02, Jack Laffey came 24th in 37:54.
Sat 8th & Sun 9th Jul, Race to the Stones. Chrissy & Neil Sunderland did the 2 day event - running 50k each day. Chrissy came 91st in 15:39:32 total time and was 40th female.

Sun 9th Jul, Stocks Lane Stinger. Michael Cottam came 2nd in 45:30 and was 1st MSen.
Sun 9th Jul, Wilmslow Summer 10k. Peter Martin came 26th in a PB 33:08, Helen Ansell came 290th in a PB 39:39 and was 30th female, Lynn Birchall came 391st in 41:39 and was 44th female and 1st FV50, Amanda Matthews came 2046th in 1:04:47 and was 726th female.

Wed 13th Jul, Widdop Fell Race. Michael Cottam came 19th in 1:05:41, Ian Sutcliffe came 36th in 1:11:40, Andy Pigg came 83rd in 1:34:10.

Sat 15th Jul, Ripon Triathlon Festival. Peter Martin came 6th in a total time of 2:17:58, Leo Timmins came 7th in a total time of 2:18:07.
Sat 15th Jul, Ultra North 55k. Steve Carson came 2nd in 4:41:36.

Sun 23rd Jul, Holme Valley Fell Race. Michael Cottam was 13th in 3:06:21, Ian Du Feu was 25th 3:18:21.

Wed 26th Jul, Leeds 5k Series. Matthew Donnelly came 40th in a PB 18:48.

Sat 29th Jul, Turnslack Fell Race, Michael Cottam finished 12th in 1:19, Andrew Doig finished 17th in 1:26.

York. Simon Courtney came 2nd in 16:13.

Heslington. Lynn Birchall came 15th in 20:39 and was 1st female.

Fountains Abbey. Simon Courtney came 1st in a PB 16:15.
Milford Waterfront. Andrew Doig came 2nd in 20:57.

Huddersfield. Leo Timmins was 2nd in 17:20, Joe Baker was 4th in 17:29, Michael Cottam was 8th in 18:11.
York. Simon Courtney was 1st in a PB 16:03.
St Helens. Ian Whalley was 8th in 21:27.
Brighouse. Lynn Birchall was 20th in 22:34 and was 2nd female.

Sat 29th Jul.
Huddersfield. Simon Courtney was 3rd in 16:17, Henry Carter was 7th in 17:42, Michael Cottam was 9th in 18:26.

If you don't have your Club set to Stadium Runners, and why would you, then your chances of your results appearing in this section are much reduced. You can amend this by editing the Groups option in your parkrun profile.
Run Leader Rota

The latest Rota for Jul - Sep is available here.

We are having issues filling the Gold Leader spot on Mondays when Simon Courtney is running one of his increasingly popular Development sessions. Also many usual Gold runners prefer to attend the Development sessions, so Gold attendance is usually low. So we have taken the decision to cancel the Gold runs when this situation occurs.

We want to stress that the Development sessions are suitable for all Bronze, Silver & Gold runners, it's just that the knock on effects of its popularity are only affecting Gold runs (at the moment).
Hare and Tortoise - Thursday 3rd August 
 
The Hare and Tortoise run sees runners paired up based on 1 quicker and 1 steadier runner. A simple route awaits you, with the quicker runner (the hare) being allocated a more challenging section to run. The runners will meet somewhere along the route, pass over the baton, and race to the finish back at the Stadium. How far you run depends on where you meet your partner! 
 
Prizes are up for grabs for the first 3 teams to finish! (Teams must finish together!) 
 
Please book on via the link below. We really do need to know in advance who is coming so we can pair runners up as best we can. If you don't book on, you may not be eligible for a prize as we may have to make some last-minute pairings on the night! 
 
We could also do with 2 or 3 marshals to help out on the route at key points please. If you are free but are not planning on running, please let Ashleigh know asap. Your help would be very much appreciated!

Give Running A Go

Mon 31st July was the last Give Running A Go Session, with Dixon's Ice Cream at the end as a reward.

All the participants are joining Stadium Runners, so please make them welcome if you see them at a training night.
Membership

Thank you to everyone who has now renewed their membership by the end of June to ensure their continued affiliation with the club and UKA. Also welcome to the new members, those who have re-joined again and the ones who have joined as second claim members to take part in the running sessions on offer from the club. We hope you all enjoy Stadium Runners experience.

Yorkshire Veterans Grand Prix

Just a quick note to advertise the Yorkshire Veterans Grand Prix series. Details below, but in brief it is £5 per race. Races are similar courses to Cross Country but usually less muddier and a bit warmer. First race is at Honley on the 23rd April. It would be nice if we could get a few more runners taking part this year.

Simon's Stadium Runners Development Sessions

Simon's Strength & Conditioning for Runners

So after a short sabbatical the S & C for Runners Club is back!

The new venue is Studio 1 at the Stadium Health and Fitness Club, this is the room just to the left of reception on the ground floor, where the Stadium Runners do their pre run briefing .

The sessions begin this coming Monday 12th of June, at a new time of 6.45pm - straight after the briefing for the Stadium Runners club run.

The future date's so far agreed with the Health Club are;
August 7th & 21st
September 4th & 18th

(These dates are on the alternate weeks to the track sessions at Leeds Rd for the Runners Development Sessions).

The sessions are available and suitable to anyone and everyone. We won't have access to quite the full array of equipment that we ended up using at HD1 Fitness, but we will continue to challenge you to be a more durable, robust and resilient athlete ready to handle your running volume and intensity as well as recover better.

The sessions will continue to be £5, with preferred payment via the details below or cash on the night. Please let me know if you intend to come from week to week, as before I will send a reminder message out a day or so before for confirmation of attendees.

Rockhopper Running

If you are fancying some off road running this summer then the Rockhoppers have two sessions per week, plus a beginner session, first one on Tuesday evening starting at 6.30 meeting at various pubs, with a 5 mile run then refreshments afterwards at the pub, starting 9th May onwards. On the fourth Tuesday every month we will be doing one hills & speed session.

Then we have the Saturday morning session starting at 9.00 meeting at various coffee shops with a 6 mile run, then refreshments afterwards at the cafe. The pace is a steady silver pace.

Then we have a beginner session or if you are coming back from injury, Let’s start running, this session is on Saturday morning 11.30 for one hour, meeting at the war memorial in green head park every week.

So please book on if you fancy some brilliant off road running, or the beginner session. ????
