| The Joe Percy 10k is an invitation only team competition between local running clubs. The course was slightly altered this year, with a different route up from Storthes Hall to the main Farnley Tyas loop. Runners do the loop twice, before retracing steps back to the start/finish line. Always keenly fought and with a special edge because of inter club rivalries. Here is how Stadium performed: |

An absolutely brilliant effort all round with Stadium clinching 1st place in both Female & Male competitions, and the two other Male teams placing 5th & 10th.

|
| Stadium & Lindley runners gathered in Greenhead Park for the repeat of last year's Handicap 5k event. It was run on the Huddersfield parkrun route, with runners setting off at different times with handicaps based on their recent parkrun times. The slowest runners set off first, and the fastest set off last, and in an ideal world, everyone would cross the finish line together. |

Sat 11th Jun, Endure 24, Wasing, Reading. Joe Baker came 1st covering 28 laps in 23:40 which was 140 miles and the course record for the new venue.
Sun 11th Jun, Hull Half Marathon. Stephen Foxcroft came 428th in2:03:19.
Sun 11th Jun, Deva Triathlon. Peter Martin came 10th in a total time of 2:13:58 and ran the 2nd fastest run leg of the day. |

Thu 15th Jun, X-Trail 10k. Darren Earnshaw came 48th in 44:13, Helen Ansell came 54th in 44:42 and was 3rd female and 1st FV35.
Fri 16th Jun, Hell on the Fell. Darren Earnshaw came 45th in 46:27, Helen Ansell came 60th in 48:21 and was 5th female and 1st FV35.
Sat 17th Jun, Hero Half Marathon. Darren Earnshaw came 41st in 1:32:02, Helen Ansell came 47th in 1:33:43 and was 1st female and 1st FV35.
Sun 18th Jun, Dr Ron Hyde 7. Helen Ansell came 64th in 48:09 and was 2nd female and 2nd FV35, Darren Earnshaw came 66th in 48:12, Joe Baker came 65th in 48:14, Amanda Matthews came 409th in 1;15:11.
Full Tour, of Tameside. Darren Earnshaw came 36th in 3:50:47, Helen Ansell came 42nd in 3:54:49 and was 1st female and 1st FV35.

The latest Rota for Jul - Sep is available here.
We are having issues filling the Gold Leader spot on Mondays when Simon Courtney is running one of his increasingly popular Development sessions. Also many usual Gold runners prefer to attend the Development sessions, so Gold attendance is usually low. So we have taken the decision to cancel the Gold runs when this situation occurs.
We want to stress that the Development sessions are suitable for all Bronze, Silver & Gold runners, it's just that the knock on effects of its popularity are only affecting Gold runs (at the moment).

Thank you to everyone who has now renewed their membership by the end of June to ensure their continued affiliation with the club and UKA. Also welcome to the new members, those who have re-joined again and the ones who have joined as second claim members to take part in the running sessions on offer from the club. Marsden Ten
Once again a big thankyou to everyone who helped out on the day. We run the event chiefly so Stadium Runners can host a race that other clubs and runners can participate in. However as a bonus we made a profit of nearly £700 this year which we have split 50/50 between ourselves and Colne Valley Lions. I still have a few Marsden Ten Tea Towels available so if you would like one, even if you didn't participate on the day, please let me know.
We have scheduled the 2024 Marsden Ten for Sunday 9th June. I have requested a slightly cooler day this time, at least when we do the Winter League Race at Storthes Hall we don't have to worry about the course catching fire!

Yorkshire Veterans Grand Prix
Just a quick note to advertise the Yorkshire Veterans Grand Prix series. Details below, but in brief it is £5 per race. Races are similar courses to Cross Country but usually less muddier and a bit warmer. First race is at Honley on the 23rd April. It would be nice if we could get a few more runners taking part this year. |

Simon's Strength & Conditioning for Runners
So after a short sabbatical the S & C for Runners Club is back!
The new venue is Studio 1 at the Stadium Health and Fitness Club, this is the room just to the left of reception on the ground floor, where the Stadium Runners do their pre run briefing .
The sessions begin this coming Monday 12th of June, at a new time of 6.45pm - straight after the briefing for the Stadium Runners club run.
The future date's so far agreed with the Health Club are;
July 10th & 24th
August 7th & 21st
September 4th & 18th
(These dates are on the alternate weeks to the track sessions at Leeds Rd for the Runners Development Sessions).
The sessions are available and suitable to anyone and everyone. We won't have access to quite the full array of equipment that we ended up using at HD1 Fitness, but we will continue to challenge you to be a more durable, robust and resilient athlete ready to handle your running volume and intensity as well as recover better.
The sessions will continue to be £5, with preferred payment via the details below or cash on the night. Please let me know if you intend to come from week to week, as before I will send a reminder message out a day or so before for confirmation of attendees.

Rockhopper Running
If you are fancying some off road running this summer then the Rockhoppers have two sessions per week, first one on Tuesday evening starting at 6.30 meeting at various pubs, with a 5 mile run then refreshments afterwards at the pub, starting 9th May onwards. On the fourth Tuesday every month we will be doing one hills & speed session.
Then we have the Saturday morning session starting at 9.00 meeting at various coffee shops with a 6 mile run, then refreshments afterwards at the cafe. The pace is a steady silver pace. So please book on if you fancy some brilliant off road running. |
