The multi-terrain route is highly likely to be muddy, slippery and uneven in places. You may feel it more appropriate to wear trail or off-road shoes dependent on conditions.

Is the course traffic free?

The course is 95% woodland trail and footpaths. There are however a few short sections of road connecting the woods, these are country roads but please be mindful that there may be some traffic. These sections will be well marshalled. Runners are to use footways where possible and follow the marshal's instructions at all times. Our priority is for a safe and enjoyable run for all.

Yes, showers and changing facilities are available at the venue. Why not freshen up before you get ready to enjoy an evening of live music, beer and BBQ!

Is the race suitable for beginners?

The Woodland Chalenge is indeed a challenge and whilst we encourage runners of all abilities, this year, the route is possibly the most challenging it has been so far. Please bear in mind that this is not a flat road race. There are sections of technical ground with lots of tree roots and uneven camber, rocky sections, steep climbs, downhills and possibly mud and the odd stream!

What is the minimum age requirement?

The minimum age limit is 16 years of age on the day of the race. However, there is an all age fun run suitable for all the family prior to the main event – visit our fun run page for more information.

Is there somewhere I can safely leave a bag?

Yes we have a secure left luggage facility that is free of charge and manned. We would recommend you bring your bag here so that you can freshen up straight after the race and enjoy the band, bar and BBQ. Car parking is 5 minutes walk away.
