Race 3 Pudsey, Sun 5th Jan,10am
Race 3 was hosted by Pudsey Pacers RC at Parkwood Outdoors Tong Bradford. A two lap off road 5.5 mile course, with plenty of hills & mud. Our top 3 runners were:

The 4th event in the WYWL was also the 12th event in the Stadium Club Championship. The Queensbury event has moved back to Foster Park, after a year's sabbatical over at Ogden. 21 Stadium Runners turned up on a beautiful, crisp, winter's morning with blue skies. That meant that it was crunchy underfoot in places, but there was still plenty of mud around on the course (particularly after the 524 runners had ploughed it up).

Stadium Race 5 Raffle
Please save any unwanted Christmas presents for the Raffle (eg. bottles, chocs, toiletries etc). This will bring in funds for the Club on the day. There will be a box on Club Nights leading up to the Cross Country for you to deposit things in, alternatively please pass these to Nicki or Jonny.
Race 6 Stainland, Sun 23rd Feb, 10am
I've not seen any details as yet, but I assume it's the usual "log flume" course, with the start/finish at West Vale. They even added a river crossing last year. I'm jealous of you lucky runners.

A small but perfectly formed group of 17 members turned out for the Sir Titus Trot 10K & 10M races this morning in Saltaire.
Fantastic performances all round and we had some great overall results.

| Dewsbury parkrun, every Saturday in Feb |

This is the 15th event on the Club Calendar.
Dewsbury parkrun is a four lap course - one short lap, and then three longer laps. It contains one big hill, which you run up four times, and a loop by the lake which you do three times. It is also quieter than Huddersfield parkrun.
Run at Dewsbury on one or all of these dates and submit your time to Race Secretary Matt M.Smith@simplybiz.co.uk.

| The 13th race on the Club Calendar is an extremely scenic run around up in the Lakes.
The Haweswater Half follows an out and back course from Bampton Village (9 miles S of Penrith, 4 miles W of Shap) and passes along the shores of Haweswater in a remote and dramatic mountain valley. The hilly course offers an exhilarating run in unique surroundings.
On the day, you’ll also get a unique souvenir mug filled with piping hot tea and a piece of delicious flapjack.
I understand that the Club will be putting on a coach, though no details as yet.

The 14th race on the Club Calendar is the Windmill 6. It is an undulating road race around the Windmills on the top of Spicer Hill. The route is an anti-clockwise loop around the windmills and taking in the breathtaking views across Huddersfield Wakefield, Penistone and surrounding areas. Bespoke Interlocking Medal to all finishers of each race.

| Calderdale Way Relay, Sun 20th May |

On Sunday 17th May 2020 the Calderdale Way Relay is taking place. This is a 50 mile loop around the Calder Valley which is split into 6 legs ranging from 4.8 miles to 10.5 miles. It is run almost entirely off road, with the accumulative times giving the end result. Each leg is run in pairs which means we will need 12 runners for each team, along with some reserves.
The event will be chip timed, to allow live "progress in running" results from each checkpoint. The start is at West Vale and the finish is at Spring Hall.
If you would like to take part in this years event, or find out more about the event, then there will be a list on the club notice board for you to put your name down. If you are unable to make it to a club night, you can let us know by emailing us at jstmeastwood@gmail.com
Once we know how many people are interested we can assemble the teams from the names on the list.

In conjunction with Colne Valley Lions Club, Stadium Runners are pleased to announce that we will be hosting the Marsden 10 Mile Run on Sunday 14th June 2020.
As last year, lots of help will be needed from Stadium Runners marshaling, car parking, tail running, timekeeping etc etc.

Committee Announcement
I wanted to let club members know that I have decided not to stand as chair at the next AGM. I've done it for a couple of years now and I'd like to give someone else a go. I'm certain that we will find a replacement but in the interests of openness and transparency, I wanted everyone to know what was happening.
As a member of the club, you are all very welcome to get involved on the committee and the work that surrounds it, ensuring that the club operates smoothly. The new chair could be someone that is already involved but it doesn't have to be, it isn't a complicated role, you really just need to have some passion for the club and be prepared to give up a little bit of your time. If you think you might be interested then feel free to contact me if you have any questions or speak to one of the other committee members, I'm sure any one of them would be happy to help.

Glitz & Glamour alert!
Sat 18th April 2020 — Awards Night 2020 will be held at Fixby Hall Golf Club. It is going to be a night of glitz & glamour - no lycra allowed. Dig out your best frock & dancing shoes (not you Jonny!) and prepare to wow your fellow club mates. Tickets are £30 and this includes a 3 course meal, awards and a DJ until late.
The Championship is hotting up - get your tickets soon to secure your place...maybe you'll have won a trophy!

I'm sure you're all getting bored of me droning on in the newsletters, so if anyone feels that they would like to write an article for inclusion in a future newsletter, then please send it on to me at newsletter@stadiumrunners.co.uk. Subject - anything you like with at least a vague running connection. It could be a race report, stuff about training or nutrition, a book review etc.
