FAQs

Can I enter on the day?

Yes, it is possible to enter on the day. Entry forms will be available at Race HQ but please arrive a little earlier if you're planning on entering on the day. On the day entries are subject to a race limit of 300 places being reached. You can register from 8.30am. We recommend you register as early as possible to beat the rush.

Can I transfer my race entry?

You may transfer your entry upto 7 days before the race. After this time we can no longer transfer your entry to another runner.

What time can I register from?

Registration for the Marsden 10 will open from 8.30am.

Where do I collect number from?

All race numbers will be given out on the day of the race at Race HQ. Registration will be open from 8.30am but we would advise that you arrive to register as early as you can to avoid having to queue.

What is the course distance?

The course is approximately 10 miles.

What footwear would be appropriate?

The multi-terrain route is highly likely to be muddy, slippery and uneven in places. You may feel it more appropriate to wear trail or off-road shoes dependent on conditions.

Is the course traffic free?

The course is 80% trail and footpaths. There are road sections at the start and end of the race, and a tough 1.5 mile road climb to the top of Wessenden. These are quiet roads but please be mindful that there may be some traffic. These sections will be well marshalled. Runners are to use footways where possible and follow the marshal's instructions at all times. Our priority is for a safe and enjoyable run for all.

Are there showering/changing facilities?

There are limited changing facilities at the venue but no showers.

Is the race suitable for beginners?

The Marsden 10 is indeed a challenge and whilst we encourage runners of all abilities, bear in mind that the route is steep in places and has some long uphill sections. There is a long and fast downhill section towards the end which can be tricky.

What is the minimum age requirement?

The minimum age limit is 17 years of age on the day of the race.

Is there somewhere I can safely leave a bag?

We don't have a secure manned luggage facility. Items may be left at race HQ but this at your own risk.

Is the course suitable for wheelchair users?

We are sorry but the course is not suitable for wheelchair users.

How do I find out the results of the race?

Race results will be posted in Race HQ as soon as possible after the race. Full results will also be available on this website.

How do I know if my entry has been accepted?

If you have entered online then you'll receive a confirmation email. If you entered by post and gave us a valid email address or enclosed a SAE then we'll contact you either by email or post. There will be also be a list of entries on the website. If you are in any doubt, you can always contact us.

How will the results be calculated?

In accordance with standard race practice, the results and finishing positions are calculated using gun time.

Is there plenty of parking available?

Yes, there is ample parking in Mardsen. Our parking marshals will direct you to the car parks. These maybe a 5 minute walk away from the Race HQ.
