Why are we affiliating to the Association of Running Clubs?
Affiliation to ARC offers club members a simpler affiliation process and to pay a lower cost to affiliate. This enables the club to offer all members a wider level of developmental and running opportunities, whilst at the same time, keeping membership fees low.
The cost of the affiliation to ARC is £165. This is a one off annual payment that the club will make to ARC. There will be no individual affiliation cost to pay to ARC, as there was with UK Athletics, which will mean that the club will be able to invest all the payment into club development, rather than a proportion of it.

We are also changing our membership year!
By affiliating to ARC, it means that we are able to change the club membership period from January-December, to better align with Stadium Runners Championship and WAVA competition and the cross country season.
To manage this changeover, it has been agreed that fees from April to December this year will be £8. For those who joined in January 2015 and paid the full current membership fee of £15 their membership will be free for this period. From January 2016 Annual membership fees will be £10.
How can I claim my affiliated race discount now we are an ARC affiliated club?
Members have been asking about what they need record when they are entering races and whether they will get the usual £2 discount. The advice is that any runner entering an ARC organised club race is that they will automatically be entitled to a £2 discount. For those entering a UKA organised race they can enter the ARC affiliation number, that we will receive when we have our ARC affiliation confirmed, if one is asked for. From ARC’s point of view there will be no sanctions or breaching of ARC rules when we do apply for the discount and it is very unlikely that there will such scrutiny from running clubs on application forms, to check out who we are affiliated to.

Renewel Evenings
Alison, our member secretary, will be doing some membership renewal/joining evenings in April. If anyone would like to help out and get to know members please could you let her know. These will be on:
